System facilitating warehouse operations based on online operations of barcodes readers.
Online, (when a reader operator is within the range of radio network) sap system transaction is carried out on the reader just as it is carried out on a PC with SAPGUI. Due to a permanent connection with R/3 all data entered into the reader is verified by an ongoing base and if there is any error (e.g. attempt to release material that is not indicated in the order) the operator is immediately notified.

There are two technical methods of exchanging data between Ibar and sap R/3:
Using telnet and SAPConsole customer (there is a disadvantage such as the necessity to create sap R/3 users for all warehouse keepers or - in the case of shift work -individual workstations).

Using sap Business Connector to exchange data between Ibar and sap R/3 (readers equipped with PocketPC or other operational system with a www browser are necessary).
SAP BC connects with sap R/3 by means of a single background user.
This solution entails a heavier software workload during implementation.

The most essential features of the readers system:

Online operation;
Using Telnet and SAPConsole customer to exchange data with the sap R/3 system;
Interface with sap R/3 via the wireless ethernet SPEKTRUM24 network; SPEKTRUM24;
Ongoing control of the input data;
Ability to work with an unlimited number of readers;
