The implementation process has four stages compatible with the Procedural Model prepared by sap on the basis of thousands of implementations all over the world. The consecutive implementation activities are strictly specified, the existing solutions regulate their planning, completion and quality control of the end results. The sophisticated tools for analysing and modelling the course of economic processes within the organisation enable the optimal configuration and adjustment of the system to the needs of the customer in accordance with their requirements and wishes. The tools for the development of the software ensure also the adaptability of the system to non-standard needs resulting from the specifics of the company’s activity. The implementation of the sap R/3 system is based on the standard methodology of implementation prepared by SAP, using R/3 tools that facilitate and order the documenting of project works and registering configuration steps, allowing the state of the projects completion to be monitored. It has been divided into 4 basic stages: Stage 1. Organisation of the project and concept of the implementation. In the first stage of the implementation model, the organisation of the project works is defined and an implementation concept is prepared. The concept describes how the economic processes of the company are developing and in what way they will be modelled within the R/3 system. Stage 2. Detailed project and prototyping. In the second stage of the implementation model, on the basis of the implementation concept, a prototype of the production system is built and tested. The construction of the prototype consists of the configuration of the R/3 system in accordance with the requirements of the company and preparing interfaces and data conversion programs. Stage 3. Preparation for the production operation. In the third stage of implementation, all preparations necessary to launch the production system are made. Stage 4. Production system operation. After the R/3 production system is launched, it is necessary to create a permanent team to support the operation of the system, and test possibilities to optimise the performance of the system.
